A non-aligned, non-industrial world located on the Bowman Arm in the District 268 Subsector of the Spinward Marches. Asteltine has a very hot climate and an exotic atmosphere with a high oxygen level.

Asteltine and its planetoid belt produce steady shipments of top quality ores, and the inhabitants of the system are primarily belters and miners. Aseltine features a large starport that supports and is supported by the mining industry. Vessels approaching the port are escorted in by one of two mercenary escort vessels on retainer to the world's port authority.

[edit] Non-Canon

Asteltine has an exotic atmosphere that is unbreathable by humans. It is home to approximately 2000 people, who have generally arrived there because of the job opportunities rather than because it is a desireable place to live. Most of the residents are typical Imperial humans, but there are small numbers of Darrians, Sword Worlders and Aslan too. The main industries within the system are Belting and Mining, which is the reason why a decent starport has been built there. The starport actually employs the majority of the inhabitants of Asteltine. The mining industry in the system is currently run by a large number of small firms, all of whom have arrived here hoping to make that big strike that will ensure their continued prosperity and well-being.
