The Crucis Margin Sector was originally published in 1981 by Judges Guild. When Judges Guild lost their Traveller licence, the data published in the sector book was de-canonized. When the Sunbane data was published the star locations and UWP information was completely redone.

The Sunbane data was the basis for the Gateway to Destiny book, the now official canon on this sector. Unlike the Ley and Glimmerdrift reaches sectors, the subsector names have been changed as well as the stars and politial entities.
