Vargr calendar

From Traveller Wiki - Science-Fiction Adventure in the Far future

Jump to: navigation, search

Vargr timekeeping varies from place to place with individual worlds based on the local day. Vargr states dealing with one another will adopt the Imperial or Zhodani calanar rather than fight over the issue. Vargr states dealing with non-Vargr will usually insist on the local dating system. The Church of the Chosen Ones mark the date as homeworld years since the Vargr were uplifted in Imperial -312,463 (by their reckoning).

The Vargr homeworld (Lair) has a year of 1.032109 Earth years. The only semi-common dating system used is the date that Jump Drive was invented Imperial -3810. And is referred to as "Years on homeworld since the diaspora (gzokdae)". Note that most Vargr cannot agree on a name for their home world, never mind this calendar.
